Matt Grote, based in Hermosa Beach, California, started skateboarding at age 5 and surfing at age 11. When he moved to San Francisco, he met Mark Andreini, who taught him about surfing history, the world of alternative boards, and shaping. His boards, influenced by various surfers from the shortboard revolution era, are a must-see in California today.
This side bite, designed by Matt himself, is slightly taller and wider than conventional single tab products. It improves hold and drive performance while maintaining low resistance. It can be used as a side bite for hulls and edge boards, stabilizer for other boards, or as a semi-finless board.
