UDT fins were manufactured by Arthur H. Brown's Spearfisherman Co. for the U.S. Navy's Underwater Demolition Team. UDT was also used by scuba divers, fishermen, and fish farmers outside of the Navy, but the sales rights were transferred and the molds were mainly lost. Production resumed after the molds were retrieved by Greg Dietz, a wedge body surfer. This legendary swim fin is a legendary swim fin.
It has the longest blade size among strap fins that can be worn barefoot, and therefore boasts the greatest propulsion. It is an essential fin for enjoying body surfing in the ocean, spoons that have no buoyancy compared to regular surf crafts, and surf mats that have low propulsion.
This fin is an all-black deadstock item that is currently hard to find even in the U.S. The hardness of the rubber is the same as the current black/yellow fins, so you can get the most out of it without any modifications.
