Koz McRae grew up in Santa Barbara surrounded by his uncle who was a shaper and George Greenough who made boats on the roadside. After a life of partying, he decided to become a shaper and studied under fellow townsman Ryan Lovelace. His surfboards, which incorporate various tastes from the 1960s to 1980s when America was in its prime, are now rapidly gaining popularity.
The Mistress has been Koz's favorite model for the past few seasons. The board is 7-8 feet long with a wide back edge, and the bottom water flow is discharged from the roll entry to the tail vee. The pinch rails and flat deck make it quick to react and allow you to surf with less leg power. The paddle is fast, it works in all waves from knee to overhead, and it has quick turns and trimming capabilities. I can't say enough about this board.
The condition is mostly clean, with only minor scratches and dirt from the time of manufacture. There is a mark on the rail where the nail does not catch, but water does not get in and it can be used as is.
